/i//DSC00083.JPG Masquerade.  This is a fun coat made of wool with 12 hand beaded mola masks and other embellishment.  There is a long batik mask panel in the center back lining.
/i//Hoffman.jpg My friend Connie St. Clair modeling a Cocoon coat made for the Hoffman Challenge.  This coat was made of Embellished Seminole bands and traveled with the Wearable Art Show for a year.
/i//vietnam.jpg This quilt is called Postcards from Vietnam and was exhibited at the International Quilt Show in Istanbul, Turkey.  It won Viewer's Choice at the Stitches in Time Quilt Show in Rochester, N.Y., in 2002.  The scenes are hand embroidered pieces I purchased in Hanoi, Vietnam consisting of scenes of the local towns and countryside.
/i//lacecoat2.jpg This coat is also made from the Folkwear Pattern #106...Turkish Coat.  Its called "Its Not My Grandmother's Lace".   It is made almost entirely from recycled crochet, embroideries and lace.
/i//lacecoat1.jpg Almost all the pieces had a problem somewhere.  A bit of rust, a tear, a hole...something that kept them from use...but they were just too beautiful to throw away.  I made a base of heavy flannel and constructed the coat crazy quilt style.
/i//lacecoat.jpg The pieces are enhanced with cording and the band is handwoven Thai silk ikat, topstitched between the rows with gold thread.  Antique mother of pearl buttons are sprinkled all over the coat.
