Shopping in New Delhi involves traveling around the city to a number of colorful markets. On a side street near the center of the city women from Rajasthan spread out fabulous blankets, pillows, saris, textiles and garment pieces with sparkling shisha mirrors which are my particular favorite.
When you enter a fabric shop you take your shoes off, sit on the white pad on the floor, and the owner will spread out bolt after bolt for your examination.
