Bernina Fashion Show Outfit 2007

/i//seven.jpg
My theme was a 30's lady going out in the evening to some wonderful event.  The coat and dress both have a slight train...not always seen well in these photos.  The coat is made from a cotton batik, scrunched and heavily stitched.  Then beads and iron on crystals were added. /i//three.jpg
The coat bands are made from several yarns and silk ribbons on a hairpinlace loom.  The photographers couldn't decide if the dress skirt should be worn at the waist or at the bust and photographed it both ways.  The dress skirt is made from pleated silver lame.  The dress closes in front with a beaded clasp which I made. /i//one.jpg
The  outer dress is made from a hand beaded sort of mesh fabric and lined.  It is entirely made by hand because of the beads in the seams.  I designed all the patterns. /i//six.jpg

Just a Basic Blue Jacket

This jacket is made mostly of batiks which I love.  The front band is Seminole patchwork.  The sort of yellow blue band on the left is a beaded band from Guatemala.  It was originally meant to be a belt.  The strip on the right with the sort of curliques is a hand appliqued hmong strip from Laos.

The centerpiece on the back is a cross stitch leopard I purchased on Ebay.  There are two more beaded belts and four appliqued hmong strips on the back.  The lining is a tiger print.  There are also more hmong strips on the sleeves. /i//bluejacket1.jpg
